Conratulations to all “Sisonians, USA”, for a very successful Medical/Dental mission in Sison, spearheaded by the reigning Mrs. Sisonian Dr. Elvira Laureta Arranz and husband Engr. Nestor Generao Arranz. God bless all the people who were involved in this very important mission for the benefit of all our kababayans.

  3. Nestor G. Arranz Says:

We hope that we can do the medical and dental mission again.
There are so many people of Sison that in need of medical and dental help.

I’m encouraging Sisionians in the Philippines most especially those that are living abroad to extend a helping hand to our fellow Sisionian. As old saying goes ‘ CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME”.

I have a discussion with the municipal officials of Sison to build a charity or a foundation to cater our fellow Sisonians with their needs most espcially in medical and dental field . Malnutrition is also one that needs attention.

      “Keep it up Mng. Nestor!”

We salute you for that noble endeavor, “HOW CAN I/WE HELP?”

Here is a quote that describes you:

“When a man has pity on all living creatures, then only HE IS NOBLE.”____Buddha

“BE NOBLE; and the nobleness that lies in other men sleeping but never dead, will rise in majesty to meet thine own.”___James Russel Lowell

    Mng. Nestor,
Let me again commend you on your effort to extend worthy charitable works for our “kailians” who are much in need of such medical services.
May I know what transpired during your discussion with our local officials regarding the idea of building a charity or a foundation? Were you informed on the procedure for securing a registration for Non Government Organization (NGO)? Maybe, it’s really time to get serious in putting up one that will have the intention but not solely for the benefit of all Sisonians. I’m with you on this, and I’m sure there are others out there who are willing to be a part of it.
Regards to your family & God Bless!

    Concerned Sisonian,
Nothing has been done on the idea of building a charity or a foundation. I was not informed nor given anything on how to proceed. This was ignored and cast aside. Maybe Sison don’t need such foundation.

We are organizing another Medical and Dental Mission for next year. This will be after the “ELECTION”.
I’m in the process of talking to Dentists and Medical Doctors. Hopefully it will be again a successful event. I’m hoping that we can cater more patient than last time.

With all due respect Kuya Nestor and Concerned Sisonian, please allow me to butt in and have my piece.

“Ignored and cast aside” a person whose only intention is to help his townmates shows a given manifestation of how selfish some of our public officials are, “nakaupo” na kasi sila, at ganyan talaga ang marami sa mga kababayan natin, kung sabihan mong “tena magluto tayo”, walang sasama sayo at di ka papakinggan, pero pag sinabi mong “halina kayo kain na tayo!” naku mabilis pa sila sa alas kwatro!

Let us just consider them the wrong people and see them as the “half-empty” part in a “half-filled” glass, now that “remaining half-filled” part represents:

      1. YOUR continuing eagerness and commitment for the “dental and medical missions”, (good thing you scheduled them after the election to avoid ride-ons by politicians.)
2.This people you approached and whom you said to have ignored you “rejects a noble intention to serve” their constituents so they have no business staying in their public seat, mention them here and we will not vote for them when election comes since they blew another chance to serve.”

      3. It may not be the time to put up a foundation or an NGO for Sison but that rejection by this public officials you talked to should not affect this objective, this blog will continue to highlight and praise “role models” like you who already planted good deeds to the hearts of their fellowmen to emulate and support.

4.Future members of the planned foundation/NGO might someday surface on this blog to help in building this one, not from the popular town hall.

Thank you for giving my piece on the issue.

  7. Concerned Sisonian Says:

    Mng. Nestor,
It is expected that the LGU’s are not too excited about putting up a foundation/charity as an NGO from Sison, this will be a disadvantage for them. Because most of the time, politicians are using these charity work for their own political purposes. They’ll try to take all the credit for bringing in professional volunteers to serve their countrymen. “Kahit wala naman silang gagawin kundi mag-issue lang ng permit at magpa-display lang sila para kasama sila sa mga bida”. :) Unfortunately the NGO’s have to pass through them to secure permits. Worst thing is, if you’re not an ally to them, they can really give you a HARD time or not even allow you to do such worthy projects for their own constituents. :)
